Mel Blossom Pet Portraits
"Mel has a wonderful talent for capturing the very spirit of a pet, even if she may have never met that animal. The painting she did for us shows two dogs, but one of our dear dogs had already passed on. Yet Mel was able to use photographs, and really did a great rendering of both dogs. She is creative and sensitive and adds such character and heart to every piece. She has a distinctive style that is fun and whimsical. We love our Mel Blossom painting!"

A 50% Deposit is required to retain a place on the client wait list. Wait times vary anywhere between 30 days to 6 months according to current workload but an approximate delivery time will be discussed with the client. Inquire ahead of time if you have a specific date in mind. Rush fee of 20% will apply for two week delivery.
2: Design
Upon receipt of your photos we can discuss portrait style and size. The photographs you supply will impact greatly on the portrait created. When photographing your pet, get down on their level and try to capture them in full frame or crop the head and shoulders (depending on your preference). Shooting outdoors on an overcast day is best or try to shoot next to a window. Take plenty of photos! The more I have to work with the better... let your animal’s personality shine!

Testimonials:
"From a few photos Mel was able to completely capture our special little Rico's personality on canvas. You see Rico was a special needs rescue dog, not having the use of his hind legs from birth. A lot of the time people who met Rico only saw his unusable legs, but Mel saw his heart and creatively captured the sweet, mischievous little tyke. It brings us joy to have this wonderful inspired portrait of our very special little boy."
Sara and Ty Merida, Mexico
"I commissioned Mel for a portrait...
And this portrait gives me joy every day!"
~Jeff Barber - Toronto, Canada
"We discovered Mel Blossom at the perfect time. We were decorating our Mexican beach house, which we nicknamed "Casa Roosevelt," in honor of our Jack Russell Terrier. We needed a small, cheerful painting to match our small, cheerful home and our small, cheerful dog…. and Mel delivered! We gave her specific dimensions and a few suggestions for the color palette, but left the rest to her imagination. We're delighted with the results; especially the adorable birds and flowers framing Roosevelt's face. Mel is one talented bitch!" --Missy, Chuburna Puerto
*Note Missy isn't insulting me my last web page and comedy duo was Talented Bitches :)
"Mel, love my portrait of "DUCE" :) You captured him perfectly and your masterpiece is the centerpiece of my shrine to him in our front hallway. I know it was only the second pet portrait you had ever done which makes it all the more impressive. Gracias!" Allision, Merida Mexico
